If it is safe, get out on the side away from traffic and wait behind the barrier. If not, stay in with your seatbelt and hazard lights on and call 999.

On other roads: get off the road if you can, use your hazard lights if you are blocking traffic, wear something light or fluorescent by day and reflective at night, and put a warning triangle at least 45 metres behind your vehicle - never on a motorway.
